Care with Courtesy, Compassion and Competence
IMPORTANT: FRIDAY 19.7.19 5.30PM - INTERNET FAILURE - CAMPS ROAD - TELEPHONES AND COMPUTERS NOT WORKING.
Welcome to Haverhill Family Practice, where we aim to provide an excellent standard of care in a helpful and friendly environment.
We operate from both the main surgery in Camps Road and the Stourview surgery in Crown Passage. All of our staff both clinical and non-clinical rotate between the two surgeries. [14.5.19 - Update: We would like to clarify that Haverhill Family Practice will NOT be leaving our premises at Camps Road or Stourview. We continue to operate from these premises.]
We offer a full range of GP services including minor surgery, blood testing, emergency clinics, contraception, joint injections, drug and alcohol services, chronic disease management, obesity management, smoking cessation and doctor-led minor injuries clinics.
A Range of Health Care Professionals
We have a wide range of health care professionals at the surgery and our Care Navigators will book you in with the most appropriate clinician. To assist us with this you will be asked the reason for the appointment.
If we are unable to offer you an appointment, we can try and offer you GP+ which is based in Haverhill on a Saturday or in Bury St Edmunds and other Suffolk locations during the week.
Alternatively, we have just commenced with E-consultations. Please click on the link below for further details.
Please note Language Line is available should you require assistance with translation – please inform Reception if you require this service.
Over 96% of patients attended their appointments in May - Thank you!!
However, there were still 207 appointments not attended which equals 49 hours of clinical time wasted and a cost to the NHS of £5796.00.
We are monitoring patients who frequently do not attend their appointments to help reduce the number of missed appointments.
Please help us to treat as many people as possible by informing us if you are unable to attend your appointment.
To contact the surgery by email please follow the link on our 'Contact Details' tab or alternatively email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENTS ONLINE
You can book your own GP appointments online to avoid the rush on the telephones or at reception.
We have also recently added appointments for cervical screening (smear test). This appointment will be with one of our practice nurses and patients MUST have received an invite for cervical screening.
Before you book for the first time you will need to come into *reception to get a username and password. You will need to provide 2 forms of ID (preferably photographic and proof of your current address). After that, click on the title above or the link at the bottom of the page, and then follow the instructions onscreen. *If you are unable to come into reception, please speak with a member of staff who will assist you. After that, click on the title above or the link at the bottom of the page, and then follow the instructions onscreen.
Access for patients with special needs
The practice has access for wheelchair users and an adapted downstairs WC. Patients may be dropped off outside our entrance and there is an on-site wheelchair available.
Repeat prescriptions are now only issued for ONE MONTH. This brings us into line with NHS and Dept of Health recommendations (and with other practices), and is part of the NHS drive to reduce wastage. If prescriptions are issued for 2 months and then the prescription is changed the cost of the wasted medication can be enormous.
We appreciate patients would prefer to have to collect medication less often, but please remember that most pharmacies are happy to hold your prescription for you and to routinely dispense and even deliver your medication every month.
Remember to that a prepay form for prescription charges costs only slightly more than three prescriptions, and lasts for three months.
The NHS has HUGE savings to make in the next few years if we are to continue to have the service we do. This is a part of that saving. Please help us with this. We appreciate your understanding.
