PLEASE NOTE THE SURGERY CAN NO LONGER OFFER YELLOW FEVER VACCINATIONS AND THERE IS A NATIONAL SHORTAGE FOR HEP A VACCINES

The surgery offers a full range of travel immunisations, and can also provide anti-malarial tablets to all patients who need them.

If you are travelling abroad and think you may need immunisations, please try and see us two or three months before travel to allow us to plan a course of immunisations (since not all can be given at the same time). Please let the receptionist know that you need a travel clinic appointment.

If you are planning on travelling to ALTITUDE (trekking or climbing) and would like to discuss medication for altitude sickness, please make an appointment with one of the doctors.

It is important to make the initial appointment as early as possible as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually give you your vaccinations. Many vaccines have to be ordered as they are not all stock vaccines. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Many travel vaccines incur a charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. Malaria medication is also only privately prescribed.

UNFORTUANTELY THERE IS A NATIONAL SHORTAGE OF HEPATITIS A VACCINATIONS.  THEREFORE WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH THIS VACCINATION FOR TRAVEL. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, WE WOULD ADVISE THAT YOU CONTACT THE LOCAL TRAVEL CLINIC IN CAMBRIDGE.
